Dumfries and Galloway Council is consulting on a range of potential savings ahead of setting its budget in late February.
A number of those proposed savings will have direct and critical impact on third sector organisations and service delivery across the region.
Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway (TSDG) plans to make a formal submission, with your input crucial. We also encourage all third sector representatives to make their own submission to the consultation.
TSDG's message continues to be that this process must not be about simply cutting budget lines,
but instead that we work across sectors to re-shape public services with improved
focus and agreed priorities.
For our submission, we need to better understand the impact of changes and
proposed cuts and, without any impact assessments currently published, we urgently need
sector views on the cuts or changes to funding - and also what more
could be done across our sector with the right investment.
The sector recognises the pressures on public sector
finances, but this is even more reason to be working better together, not
isolating our sector and communities. Please submit your input using the form below.
