We know that volunteering can improve individual physical and mental health and wellbeing.

We know that volunteering strengthens social networks and bonds within and between communities and can help to create experiences and connections that lead to better lives.”

Volunteering for All: national framework

Volunteer-involving organisations are crucial in not only making sure formal volunteer placements are accessible but also in recognising and constantly diversifying more flexible volunteer opportunities.

Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway support volunteer-involving organisations in recruiting the right volunteers long-term. Deciding to recruit volunteers with our support, prepare yourself for collaborative work.

Let’s delve into our volunteer recruitment journey mindfully and patiently
Step 1 - Check if your organisation is volunteer-ready
It will help you ensure both your organisation and volunteers are protected from any possible risks, and your volunteers feel safe, supported, and recognised for their impact.

Checklist
Step 2 - Review the existing and new volunteer opportunities making them more inclusive and flexible
Step 3 - Create a volunteer role description
